I have to disagree with you here sweetums. We cannot continue to allow companies/corporations continue to screw over the little guy/the consumer. Just because there is a EULA it doesn't mean that it's right. They word it so that they can pretty much do whatever they want and force you to go along with it if you want to play the game. A gamer needs to have rights and representation of those rights. I would not doubt as technology grows and the gamer life gets more popular you will start to see more protection and consideration towards gamers. At some point people need to make a stand and the best way to make change happen is by bringing attention to injustice.

ok, is anyone who never used a bot and never used any 3rd party program, AND doesnt play JQ banned?
it seems the JQ people go real far, lately
just to get HzH, they try to let people report others

someone i know in GW is banned, while thats a person who's not using bots, but rather takes care of the alliances
i know that some people are heartless enough to make people banned just to get HzH....
so i wonder if most people here play alot of JQ

well, if i'd get banned, then something MUST be wrong, as i never use programs with GW like that.... i dont even have them
no texmod, although i wanted to use it for carto, but i heard you'd have to open your account with another program, and so never touched texmod cuz of that
i didnt trust it

bots? they take away the part where i PLAY the game, and playing is the part i bought this game and all char slots and merc hero slots for

goldsell? again, i wanna earn it through PLAYING, or else i better buy an account where everything is done, but then i dont have any goals anymore

so yea, i pretty much did everything on my own, and most stuff i got help with from human players, unless bots chat as if they are friends, but i doubt that :P

as for syncing, i never liked pvp and bought GW for pve only, so always been safe in that area too (fighting is imo for fighting games or duels for fun in MMO's)

speaking of sync, is it good and safe to "sync" in vizunah square and unwaking waters?
i mean, i doesnt hurt anyone, and its made to play with people from the other sides... and its as good as dead nowadays, so nowadays its syncing that, or going with henchies, but i'm still too scared to do that

my guess is that its safe, but one cannot know for 100% sure

oh yeah, i never used multilaunch either

small update: heard that many people using multilaunch were banned, try to avoid it

(man, i really am glad i never trusted those programs.... wow)

Question : Is there somone who bought a new account after being banned, didn't bot or used any programs at all, but still got banned ?

They are re-banning people now, against what gaile posted years ago on gw wiki.

Much has changed in gw1 I see. So far I enjoyed it because the amount of unprovoked bans was extremely small. Other mmos think nothing of banning innocents during banwaves and then maybe re-instate them later on. A practice I find deplorable, especially because you dont get any kind of reimbursement.

Seems like all the sensible people left the ship or switched to gw2.

If you got banned without cause, dont hope for much, because gw1 doesnt have the personnel to re-check even 10% of those banned accounts. Shazbawt must have been very sure that banning system works. Though if its an automated system, he isnt very smart then. Even with bot detections like hackshield or botshield, they have false positives now and then. Without something elaborate like that.... anyway.

Its always sad to be forced to end a "live" in any mmo, but maybe in the end its for the better.
There are other mmos out there. Not to mention stuff you can do in rl with all that forced free time.

Dont make the mistake of taking money into hand and buying a new gw1 copy. If they havent rescinded bans by now, they never will. If they are still banning innocent people, they wont stop doing that. So you risk getting banned anytime soon again, even if it isnt right now.

Btw, my accounts havent been banned, but Id not be terribly surprised to log in tomorrow and see them all being banned because... I own two accounts, ran them on same IP, and same gw1 client version, though not on same computer. Apparently thats all that takes nowadays to get banned in gw1... ^^

I'm not banned, and still play the game daily. I don't bot, I don't run multiple accounts, I've used Textmod downloaded from Guild Wiki maybe a couple times to find some troublesome cartographer areas in Elona, but that's it.

If I find myself banned, by mistake or otherwise, I will never financially support Arena Net, NCsoft, or otherwise, again, even their future endeavors.

And I will be sure to spread the word.

Friend was just banned ffs. I play with him and one other to do daily Zaishen. He was using text mod to map as well and got it from the wiki. Can that be it? There's NO WAY he's doing anything he shouldn't be!!!!

It almost feels like Anet wants to keep the fear high among the players by keeping them in the dark as to what they've actually done. Whatever system they're using is far too broad and generalized, and catching far too many players who I genuinely believe are innocent. This kind of intimidation tactic has got to stop.

I have used gwx2 and texmod for years and i have not been banned,my 2nd account that i use as a gate monkey for my pre characters has not been banned,i have traded between both accounts money/dyes and minis and received no ban.

The more and more I read stories of bannings, the less I believe it's actual humans clicking the button. I bet Shaz came up with a kickbutt algorithm that's flawless and never makes mistakes, then implemented it into the Anet Security Mainframe, which we all know is broken and distorted to all end.

Last of my main accounts now banned. Checked a few others and so far safe. Although they're just bday present incubators now.

So until anything gets rectified, my GW1 experience is over.

It's interesting how this Chris Cleary (Shazbawt) guy can wield the ban hammer unchecked in a game produced by a company that didn't hire him until 2013.

I like how you can get banned for no explicable reason. So my main char Subutai accomplishments are gone, and I'm tossed out with the trash (botters) of the game.

No credit is given for getting everything in my HoM honestly (you can have your GW2 APs and Titles). There's so much more that the HoM can't catalog. Other titles on other characters and accomplishments like doing Urgoz or Fow on multiple chars.

How about just being a decent person in the game? Doing spider caps or forge runs for tips? Helping people with missions or just general info. One guy ran me from Ascalon to LA and in return I helped him do all the desert missions so he could get ascended and get into the UW. Helping guildies with titles and getting them to 30, 40 or 50 in their HoM. I've run Amatz Basin for plenty of people as well. The list could go on for quite awhile.

I've read some posts where people are saying stop whining or get over it. I trust these people are just trouble-makers who lack empathy.

Yes, it's just a game, but does that diminish it's importance? If your hobby was rebuilding cars and someone took out one of your best for a joy ride and destroyed it, would you welcome the people who'd say "It's just a car. You got your life!"? Show some understanding or don't post. It's that simple and shows some humanity.

I've been reading the posts and I'm saddened for all who got banned for no good reason. This is a fantastic game. To explore it all and be able to engage in build theory is what makes it so great. Making friends around the world is pretty awesome too. To have it taken away with no explanation is painful. And GW2 is no substitute. It's a completely different game that I don't really enjoy.

So I wish you guys all the best as you cope and hopefully get good results from CS. This thread had helped me deal with this and I'll be checking back to see if anyone gets some results and will continue to keep you updated on what I find.

I want to tell youthe story about mine 5 accounts that are banned now.

Before the first Banwave i used a kurzick vanquish bot for kurzick title with my main account and made about 2 mio pts with it.

All my Accounts survived the first banwave (main, two pre, one storage, and one unused acc).
Of course i stopped botting after that.

After the second banwave my main, storage and 1 pre account were banned.
Of course i contacted the support which replied me fast after ~3 days.
I only got an standard answer, so the situation for me was clear.

I accepted that situation, but after a few days i had the "great" idea to use the unused account to start again with playing prophecies.
So i played for about two weeks until today. today the 2 remaining accounts were banned

(of course i used no bots with the last 2 accs and also were not able to...)
I contacted arenanet again, cause someone really failed here...

that sux but you did bot so by rights they should have banned all in 1st ban wave. But it's flawed as I have shown continually. I'm still playing & so are others in same circumstances. Funny those that sync R15 get all acc ban but the R15. lol flawed indeed. So ya sorry to hear about anyone that got banned for any reason Or no reason at all.

In my opinion, basically anyone with a max Pvp title should be auto banned. Of course there are a FEW people who got it legitly and shouldn't be. But anyone with max codex is obviously ban worthy. And really with most of the max others.

Shame if innocents are being banned.

At the post below mine, I don't believe this. If it was the case, everyone would be banned. I'm not for example.
